LA BUVETTE

Oringinating from France, we wanted to create a space where we could bring the French aperitif culture to life. The French never only drink / eat independently…it’s always done at the same time and an “apéro” can be a quick drink with friends after work with a snack, to a long progressive degustation of drinks and food.

Coupled with our passion for sourcing lesser known and hard to come by Natural Wines & love for specialty French spirits, cocktails and the combination of accompanying food - French style - with cheeses, charcuteries, snails, and then some heartier dishes from time to time with a seasonal menu of things like Beef Burgundy and French onion soup as favourite additions.

Natural wine was a huge thing for us, Nothing added… no pesticides, with little or no intervention from the grapes to the bottling process. These are really interesting wines - many of them made right here on our doorstep in Adelaide and we really wanted a space where people could come and drink these wines, and expand their tastes and experiences.

The Apéritif… “METRO.BOULOT.APÉRO”

METRO.BOULOUT.APÉRO, La Buvette’s motto based on the original French classic saying “metro, boulot, dodo” translation - “the daily grind” (means train [or commute], work, sleep.. repeat). We Say, why not finish the day with an apéro!

‘Apéritif’’ literally is the ‘time for a drink & snack’ but also refers in general to a convivial gathering for Frenchies before a meal or as a general catch up..
